Meet Alex — a personal trainer based in Leeds. Like many PTs, he was maxed out with 25–30 in-person sessions per week and struggling to grow without burning out. Wanting to scale, he turned to AI and started using Kemtai — a computer vision platform that gives users real-time form feedback via their laptop or mobile device.
He created a 12-week “Strong at Home” programme, filmed the exercises, and built a progressive plan. With Kemtai handling form-checking and rep counting, he could coach dozens of clients at once — each getting personalised corrections without Alex needing to be live on Zoom.
He priced it at £99 per block and enrolled 50 clients in the first launch — £4,950 in revenue, no physical sessions, and minimal admin. Client satisfaction was high, and many wanted more — so he built a second programme and added a premium tier with monthly check-ins.
As demand grew, Alex noticed a pattern: some clients loved training at home, but others craved the energy of group workouts. That’s when he decided to launch a hybrid gym. He used the revenue from the digital programmes to lease a small facility — around 1,500 sq ft — and pre-sold founding memberships to his online clients.
Inside the gym, he kept the hybrid model alive. Some sessions were coached live, others used Kemtai on-screen for semi-guided training. Members loved the flexibility — and Alex reduced staff costs by running tech-supported sessions without needing a full-time coach on every floor.
Today, Alex has 80+ recurring members, two part-time coaches, and a business that runs online and offline — all built on scalable systems from day one.
It’s not just smart, it’s sustainable.
